New ReadQuest Program for Teens – TeenTube Contest

Lights…camera…action!

Lights…camera…action!

Take the Library's TeenTube challenge and create your own "braincast." During ReadQuest, teens ages 12-18 are invited to create and submit a video or an audio podcast about "How the Library Entertains My Brain" or "Why I Love My Library." Winners will receive gift certificates to Target – $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place - at the TeenTube Premiere Party on Fountain Square, Saturday, July 12 at 5:00 p.m. These "braincasts" will also be available to view online!

Need some help? The Library is partnering with local community access stations to offer "how to" video workshops.

For more information about TeenTube, please call 513-369-6959.

Here's how TeenTube works…

Scene 1: Write a script for your video or audio podcast.

Scene 2: Take a video camera or audio recorder to your local branch and show and/or tell us how you entertain your brain at the Library or why you love your Library.

Scene 3: Edit your footage. Add graphics, special effects, and transitions.

Scene 4: Enter your video or audio podcast into the contest. Burn it onto a DVD or CD, and turn it in at your local Library by July 2.

Scene 5: Party! Join us on Fountain Square for the TeenTube Premiere Party, July 12 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Family and friends welcome. We'll announce the winners and air all of the TeenTube entries. Videos will run on the big screen – the Fountain Square LED Video Board! The Library, CET, Time Warner Cable, and others will be on the Square with prizes, music, and other activities to Entertain Your Brain. Then, stick around for Fountain Square's Movie Night featuring two popular films - the animated "Robots" followed by "I, Robot."

The Prizes

A panel of professionals will evaluate all entries on how well the TeenTube rules are met and how entertaining or informative the entry was. Winners will be announced at the July 12 Premiere Party and will receive:

1. First Prize: $100 Gift Card to Target

2. Second Prize: $75 Gift Card to Target

3. Third Prize: $50 Gift Card to Target
